The Headliners
Chaos is the Game
The Headliners is at its best when everything is going wrong and you and your friends are losing it together. Just don't expect it to keep surprising you forever — the chaos gets familiar faster than you'd want.
Overview
I really enjoyed The Headliners. It feels more like a chaotic experience with friends than a traditional polished horror game, and that is exactly what makes it stand out. It is not trying to scare you every second — it is trying to make you panic, laugh, and work together while everything goes wrong around you.
What shines
What I liked most was how the game kept creating those “did that really just happen?” moments. The best parts came from the chaos, especially when the team was trying to stay together and everything started falling apart at the same time. It also works really well if you play with people who are into joking around, because the game naturally creates a lot of funny situations.
What is less good
After a while, I did feel like it started to repeat itself a bit. Some of the novelty wears off once you have seen the same kinds of situations enough times, and then it becomes more about the routine than the surprise. There are also moments where the game feels a little rough around the edges, which makes it less strong if you are looking for something with more depth or long-term progression.
Bottom line
I definitely recommend playing The Headliners with friends. It is at its best when you have a group to share the panic and the jokes with, and that is where the game really comes alive. Playing alone is possible, but it feels more challenging and less fun compared to the co-op experience.
